photostory friday: high tea

last saturday my email scrapbook group the 'scrapmates' (most of us live in wellington) went to high tea.

it's on our hometown bucket list.  i should point out that no-one is infirmed or terminal - just that we decided as a group to come up with a list of places in our hometown that we haven't yet seen or been to - and GO and SEE them!!!

today's stop: Martha's Pantry for HIGH TEA

i'm so glad i DRINK tea, coz this place is wasted on coffee drinkers!
and wouldn't you know it - i ran into a friend there - and he was drinking COFFEE!
he was the first to admit it was sacrilege.

cute tea cosies like this were bountiful

little posies of flowers on every table

cute racks with hats on the wall

i was wondering who would end up sitting at this table
would it be a couple on a saturday morning date?
it was a couple of girlfriends. i did not stick my camera in their face, so you'll just have to imagine them sitting here

then the food came out!  the waitress said - "don't take any pictures of me!"

are you wondering why the waitress would say that?

oh yeah - side bar: fresh scones with jam and cream

and mini cupcakes and rocky road and double chocolate brownies
ALL in bite-sized pieces, coz we're LADEEEEEZE

THIS is why the waitress didn't want us to take her photo, because as soon as the food came - out came the cameras!!!

and here we all are

this is how happy i was to be at high tea!!!!

you are a true blogger. take pictures before eating your orders in the restaurant :D

I tried to imagine two girls near the window. hard. I'd rather imagine a couple of lovers :)

That looks like so much fun, I absolutely love tea. I would love to go to a high tea. :) But for now, I'll settle for making myself a hot cuppa :)

Looks like TONS of fun. I bet that waitress was a little overwhelmed...in a good way (of course)!

Looks like you all had a good time. How fun to come up with a hometown bucket list. It is funny how people always are thinking of far away places they want to see and forget about what surrounds them.
