photostory friday - anatomy of a scrap away

our bi-annual scrap away was last weekend. it's a chance to spend time away from the family with my girlfriends, in a totally creative space. we fed our souls...and watered them too.

it's also a time to eat, drink and talk. and talk some more. then eat. then drink. oh, and listen to music. we sleep too, except for when the smoke alarms decide to start chirping - at 5am (WHY do they always do that?)

so first - get someone else to pack the car, because quite frankly, you suck at it.
find somewhere fabulous and restful in which to scrap.
get well set upstay connected (for rugby score updates)
eat (and drink well)
and above all - dress well. ooops.

maybe we should re-name the scrappy weekend 'the schlumpadinka weekend'
usually we get all gussied up and 'lunch' on the saturday afternoon. lunch has previously turned into an afternoon's shopping at the local craft stores and taken up to 5 hours, thereby seriously cutting into our scrapping time.

this weekend we 'pushed on through', scrapping like mad things all day. around 4.30 we decided to get some country air, so decided to go for a walk...

in our pyjamas
because we can
even though we were on a back country road, it is also the main road to mt holdsworth, the entrance to a local forest park, and nature reserve. ergo - we got lots of weird looks from the locals.

like we cared
PS: edited to add (by miss 16): see the resemblance? bit scary...

HAHA! That last bit with the Chipmunks is awesome! And the 'the schlumpadinka weekend' ? Best word I've read all week. If I am understanding the word, I think I AM schlumpadinka. :)

I am envious on several levels. First that you took a girl overnight and did something creative! That you found a getaway place you love! and that you did it all in your PJs! Yeah for you!
I love your humor..the picture walking down the lane is my favorite!

And, the Alvin and the Chipmunks resemblance is uncanny.

scrapping and having fun in your PJs should be compulsory I reckon! Looks like the right kind of weekend to me.... looks like a fab spot you got.

And the resemblence? Yeah, totally getting it!!

WOW! Looks like a fab weekend to me! Makes me want to go find me my own Simon and Theodore-although I think I am more of a Theodore than an Alvin..sigh..

hee hee i do see a bit of a resemblance. Fabulous jams, btw.

You know, I think you're last scrap away weekend was on of the first posts I read at your blog? I remember a giant animal sculpture of some kind that was covered in cobwebs and a bunch of fancy scrappy ladies? Happy scrap away. Looks like fun.

Hey, there are worse people to look like than the Chipmunks! It looks like a fun day.

Happy SITS-S-S!
