i knew exactly what photo i wanted to use when i saw that this week's challenge was 'hearts'

this photo was taken by my daughter (or maybe even one of her friends) at an junior athletics day at her college back in 2009. 

thank heavens for sun on a sports day!

i heart faces: tickled pink

choosing a photo for this month's challenge was easy

a few weeks back, my zumba 'family' and i attended a PINKATHON organised by one of our zumba instructors, to raise money for breast cancer awareness

the pinkathon was in honour of one of our instructor's best friends who had lost her battle with cancer at the far too young age of 32

you should have seen the hall - it was a sea of pink, but i just couldn't go past joy's 'flowery boobies'

they said it all really, and i'm so glad she gave me her permission to use the photo today

i've desaturated the image, but left her pink flowery boobies super pink

and that's all i have to say about that

i heart faces: friendship photo challenge

i literally have THOUSANDS of photos of tara and i in my photo library, however i simply couldn't go past this one taken last september, when i flew from wellington to australia to surprise her for the weekend.

priceless.

i smile so wide every time i look at it.

i heart faces: best face of 2010

i'd much prefer this be called 'best photo', but that's just coz i have 4 beautiful, photogenic daughters whose gorgeous faces have all contributed to my 47,227-strong photo library.

i snapped this one of miss 14 on christmas day, and i think it captures her beautifully.

i heart faces tutorial show and tell

i'm a recent and sometimes participant on this website
i haven't done any fix-it-fridays yet, as the tutorials seem to involve FULL photoshop and various 'actions' downloads, but i DID find this very easy-to-follow tutorial on tinting using the gradient map in PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS.

i heart faces: my dinner recipes in photos

well, this isn't exactly DINNER, but these photos are too 'delicious' not to share!

i actually made these almost 3 years ago and haven't made them since!

not because they weren't very good, but because my waistline surely couldn't cope with them being anything other than a VERY occasional treat!

these are of course the pioneer woman's cinnamon rolls and they are TO-DIE-FOR!!!

i heart faces: purple photo challenge

this is my first time participating in i heart faces, and bless my 18 year old daughter for being my willing subject.

she'd just got out of bed and came into the kitchen for her breakfast.

as soon as i saw that she was wearing purple, i dragged her outside (into the cold - it's winter here!) to take her picture.
