thank you

firstly, thanks all my PSFers and everyone else who took the 4 minutes out of their day to watch my crazy girls ham their way through our annual post christmas tree decorating photo shoot.

i think their sole focus now is to just have fun, and if mum gets a passable picture - whatever, we didn't plan it that way!

i know 4 minutes is a LONG TIME to spend on a blog, even a favourite one. i know, i read sitemeter! we're all busy and have short attention spans (no wait, that's me!)

anyway - just wanted to say THANKS.

and thanks to mel for this!...

it came with this blurb:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

as sass pointed out, we pretty much share the same 8 people we would pass this onto!

which brings me to ponder a question (and i'd like an answer
please):

do you feel closer to those on your blogroll, whose first names you know?

(i know i do)

and a follow-up question (or two)

are there bloggers who have you on THEIR blogroll, but never leave you comments?

and one more

do you have bloggers on YOUR blogroll that you visit regularly (and leave comments) who don't have you on THEIR blogroll?

just wondering.....

I'd say yes to all of those, but I'm ok with it because I'm what manic momma calls a blog slut, I just hop around all over the blogosphere leaving comments everywhere, or just reading and hopping on without saying anything even if I wanted to, because I'm being beckoned back into real life. My blogroll is never up to date anyways.

I enjoy the blogging to make friends. So, it helps to know first names. Life is crazy right now, but I watched your video and loved it. I can't believe the girls patiently waited through all of those. Send me your address so I can send you a Christmas card. Heart ya!!

Well, I am multi-tasking. I am watching the video and typing a comment! I like it.

Remind me to thank my typing teacher for making me touch-type. She's probably dead now. She was dotty back in the 80s.

Your daughter on the right looks like you.

PS Life is crazy busy right now for everyone I guess

Yes, to the first question. I definitely feel closer to those on my blog roll whose first names I know. We have even shared e-mails outside of blog comments.

I honestly don't have an answer for question #2.

Yes, to #3 but that's okay. I enjoy visiting those on my blogroll and try very hard to leave comments. But having a full-time job and all of life's demands, I can't always leave a comment. It doesn't matter if I'm not on someone else's blogroll. After all, blogging is fun and I'm not easily offended.

Love you Sue! Your blog is always interesting and I'm glad we've gotten to know each other better.

Yes definitely feel closer to those who are on my blog roll, those whose I am on, and those who leave comments. The ones that pass through and think they are leaving without a trace...haha sitemeter got ya!

when I started blogging I had a blog roll I took it off for a number of reasons. I more or less know most of the people who leave comments on my blog and have meet most of them. Some I have yet to meet but keep in touch via emails besides from blog comments. I know I have a lot of lurkers that read my blog but never comment. In the last month or so I have changed my focus and often wont leave comments on everyones blogs that I read. Time and work has been a residing reason behind this.

Hi Scrappy Sue - I'm just stopping by after I saw you checked out my blog! Thanks. Wow -a New Zealand visitor - right on. I'm not commenting on your wardrobe question because I what I wear is not that interesting. My typical casual scene....

But this blogroll questioning has me stumped. I still don't have a blogroll 'cause i can't figure it out. I want to only list blogs that I really read - not just ones to be nice. Is that so bad?

And I don't know many that well 'cause I haven't been at this blog thing for that long....

Yes, Yes and YES! To all three questions.

Yes, yes and yes.

I blog and comment all over the place and it doesn't occur to me to check if I'm on anyone's blog roll. I try to keep mine up to date - err, every six months or so!

I think I've got a reader or two who don't comment at all. I spend a bit of time wondering what they are thinking...

Yes. Yes. And... maybe? probably, yes. Lol. Great questions!

The first one - I feel that way to the point where I've not put my first name on my blog - right out in the open (gasp!).

The second questions is one of those things... You sort of wonder to yourself "who is that?" but then I know I follow blogs that I almost never comment on because I figure the bloggers are so big that they'd never notice my comments. I'm probably wrong about that, though because what kind of blogger doesn't love comments?

How to get people to comment more, though?... Yesterday, I had 50-something visitors, but only 3 comments. What's up with that?
