a-glamping we will go...

that's glamorous camping, coz if i'm going to spend 2 weeks living under canvas, i'm gonna make it worthwhile! this was our set-up last year:
the smaller extraneous tents belong to small and not so small children of varying sizes. that big bugger in the middle? the one with THREE rooms (each with electricity), containing his and hers zip-together airbeds, the bread maker, waffle maker, fridge, cold beer, gin, vodka, wine, chocolate, prayer books.....

that's ours. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLL ours.

but hey - i still use a sleeping bag. i'm no sellout. nosiree bob.

note the indoor/outdoor flow
while we're away someone will have a birthday
there'll be some of this
plenty of this
lots of this
and some whale watching (hehe)
see? now, this is how much i love you, my blog family; that i am prepared to show you a picture in my 'should-have-died-in-the-90s' tankini and associated lumpy bits.

also, the reason you only SEE me holding a board, is because i can't catch a wave to safe myself. all the photos of me trying to catch a wave show me with my eyes squeezed shut and my mouth either wide open, or closed resembling a puffer fish. you'd think it's funny, but i ain't sharin'.

(check out miss 17 putting herself back together in the background. now THAT's funny).

NB: THREE new tanks and bikini bottoms bought in hong kong (that have been itching for a day out) are soon to replace that raggedy old blue thing.
back in 2 weeks!
(missing you already)

watch out for my blogoversary giveaway which is scheduled to post jan 20th NZDST

Hope your vacation is lovely, Sue. Surely you'll treat us to photos of your 2-week adventure via your blog? Tommorrow we leave on a one-week cruising adventure. We'll leave Ft. Lauderdale FL, with port-of-calls in Key West, Cayman Islands, and Jamaica. With all your home comforts at tent city, is there no computer hookup?

Haaaa!!! Oh goodie! I loved camping in NZ! Loved lake Taupo, the campsites and the sounds and cooking smells of the other campers around us. Glamping. Love it.

Need to see THIS year's photos. Quick. Maybe when you get back!

What a beautiful spot. And you go camping with a waffle iron? And all the booze? Can I come? Looks fabulous.

I've hardly ever seen a lady look less whale-like, either, btw.

Yay for camping and yay for beaches.

What a fun read for me to end on (it's bedtime-- 3 hours ago). I want to join for this camp out, where does one sign up? And where the heck is the scrapbooking table?!

I am so jealous of that scene! Those pics are brilliant and I just love you!! Right about now you're having an incredible time and I'm sitting here blogging away instead of bathing my kids. Bath and bedtime in LA.

Hmmmmm.....I'd rather be trying to catch one of those waves...

:-)

Girlfriend, you look HAWT! I'd kill for those thighs, as you well know. I have to wear the swim bottoms with skirts to hide my hamhocks.

You always make me laugh! Associated lumpy bits?!!

And glamping? I guess if you're going to show a photo of yourself wearing a flower print skirt and mention a bread maker you kind of have to alter the name.

Yes, if you're going camping, you might as well have all the amenities. Looks like a great time.

Sue, you're hot. There's no need to try to make us all feel better about ourselves by cutting yourself down. It's okay. I can handle your hottness. I hope your having fun. Everything you do always looks like a total blast!!

I hope you think of me over here cleaning up pee and poo.
