photostory friday: mr and mrs scrappy's big adventure: by the numbers

READY, SET, GO!!!

number of countries visited (or passed through): 5

number of miles travelled: 40,501

number of miles walked in rome and london: amilliongajaillionbazillion

modes of transportation used: 6

number of photos taken: 1768 (wanna see them all now?)

pairs of shoes purchased (mostly italian): 5

pairs of new boots purchased: ONE

number of blog friends that are now REAL LIVE friends: TWO

number of italian espressos imbibed: not enough

amount of second hand smoke inhaled on the streets of rome: enough to last me a life-time

number of gorgeous italian men i wanted to take home: all of them

number of memories created: countless

and now for a few of my favourite photos: (in no particular order)

wonderful whitstable, where this lovely blogger lives

mount vesuvius. no words needed here

this is a very old sign near the entrance to st peter's
i'm assuming it's designed to notify tourists of the clothing standard.
from this sign, i would assume that topless boys, broken arms, broken legs and lederhosen are not ok

sunset at whitstable. we very much heart whitstable

see all the tiny people at the top of the dome (of st peters) we were up there!

and this is how you get there
not for the faint-hearted, those inclined towards vertigo, the unfit, plus-size or anyone with a thing against steps, circular stairwells and curved walls

for one euro, you can pose with a sweaty 'gladiator' and he can pretend to slit your throat
so why wouldn't you?

i just love this pic. me and my sis on parliament bridge in london

the most lovely peaches. she belongs to the blogger mentioned in the first pic
i taught her how to do that...

how to get the best pizza in all of napoli?

kiss the cook!!!
yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummy

pompei: abbey road styles

the wonderfully wacky auntiegwen: bless
this lovely blogger made an almost 12 hour round trip JUST to have dinner with us
not bad for someone who says 'everything about london scares the BAJEEZES out of me!"

last i saw of her was when we put her on the wrong tube on the underground (haven't heard from her since!!!)

my favourite roman ruin. what's left of a column at marcello's theatre in the jewish ghetto.
i took at leat 27 photos of this column from every angle at every time of day

19 euro dress
29 euro boots
i heart roman shopping

rome at dusk on one of our many night walks

Fabulous shots! We walked up several of those steep, round, high staircases on our Italian trip as well...they were freaky but always worth it when you got to the top!

that is one hot outfit! Love the boots! And I just can't get over that sign. Guess if you only have one leg you can't go there lol!

OMG! I just got a comment from you in my email... We were reading each other's blog at the EXACT SAME TIME. Whee!

Love the pictures, Sue! You're gorgeous! I love the dress and the boots. It looks like you had a great time.

My only question is - those stairs. How do people get back down? Do you have to pass other people or is there another staircase for going down?

Wow, could it get any more fabulous than this? Fantastic photos, I do have to say, you should've saved the lederhosen/broken arms and legs comment for nearer the end because I had to compose myself before I could read on :-)
I was SO close to you-- I think I missed you in London by one day.
