these past 2 weeks have been nothing short of an out-of-body experience for me
a couple of days after christmas tara told me that her family was moving back to australia to be close to family
this is great news for them, and sad for us
let's face it - it sucks to be left behind, because no matter where or what, or who you're going to, it's easier to look forward than behind
michelle too, is moving to australia
this is also good for her and sad for us
so basically, i've spent the last few days cramming in as much 'tara time' ( and our girls have too) as possible
i had 2 days away in the hawkes bay this weekend with my SIL (pics next month - awesome) and that short break was great to 'get out of my head', but it was back to my sucky reality today (with weather to match)
tara and i had a sleepover at her place last night with the girls, and she had a garage sale this morning
today was spent garage saling, saying goodbye to michelle, packing up for our own 2 week camping holiday, then saying goodbye to tara
picture me, tara, misses 11 (x 2), miss 12 and miss 13 all standing in our garage - surrounded by half packed camping gear - hanging onto each other for dear life, all bawling our eyes out
(and it's pouring with rain outside)
to top it off - i got an email from heather saying ' it's your SITS day on monday!'
how can you invite everyone to a party at your house and not be home?
what sort of hostess would i be lol
so the darling heather has deferred me for a few weeks
watch this space - my day is almost here!
thanks for listening and reading
it really helps to know you're all out there
PS: silver lining: customs prevents alcohol being shipped INTO australia, so between tara and michelle - we have been gifted enough 'plonk' to share with the whole campground!

So sorry you are going to be missing your friends!!! Big hugs!!! As a military wife, I have to say goodbye all the time, and it sucks.
I can't wait till it's your SITS Day! I soooo enjoyed mine!!
Sue I hope your camping trip brings you back refreshed and ready to take on the world! So sorry your friends are moving away...hugs to you and your girls!
Maybe I should move over to keep you company.
I have your New Zealand calendar above my desk and I think of you every time I look at it. I also think of you as I see your kiwi phone tag every time I use my phone.
I am thinking of you A LOT, this may explain any headaches etc !!!!
So sorry to hear your friends are moving but sending you the love xxx
wow I must have been dense. I picked up in your last post about Michelle leaveing but totally missed the reference to Tara leaving. I saw the goodbye Tara but thought you meant she was saying goodbye to the old year.
Oh Sue and girls I feel for you. I know how close you all are with each others families.
To loose two good friends to Oz would put anyones head in a spin. I guess the only upside is you can still visit each other. I know its small comfort. Hang in there Sue.
That's very sad. I hope you get lots of chances to visit.
Hugs!
Enjoy your camping trip! WE often say goodbye to friends, and yes, so so sad. But lukcily these days we skype etc.
I'm sorry to hear about your friends. I hope your camping trip goes well though. Sounds like you have a great excuse to go to Australia though ;)
We're not sure if my hubby got a job in Portland and if we're going to have to leave Astoria! But you're right, it is easier on us because we'll be so busy trying to figure out a new life. It is going to be hard on the kids if it happens, though. In any case, I have been feeling your pain lately from the other side of the transaction.
I am so sorry they are moving away. Separations stink.
What a great honest and open post...Change is always hard, but I promise new people will also come into your life to fill the hole. Happy early SITS day. Enjoy all of the warmth and attention. Happy New Year!
