photostory friday: being neighbourly with eye candy

(had you goin' there,  didnt i?)

i made these for my new neighbours who recently moved into our street.  they're from the uk (even tho they've been in nz for 4 years) and have 2 young boys.

more than seeing the joy on her face when she opened the door and saw me standing there with these still warm chocolate chewy treats in my hand;

more than sharing the other half of the batch with my scrapbooking friends at a crop that afternoon;

MORE than actually making something that looked even REMOTELY like the picture in the recipe (my kitchen cafe - great site!);

i love that the pictures i took of them turned out this well!

as i've said before, it REALLY doesn't take much to keep me happy!

my portrait lens in action again.  if only the light in my kitchen was better.  photographing food is tricky!

...and yes, they tasted as good as they look.

You've got my mouth watering over here. Maryland isn't too far to send a few of those over, is it??

Hey, you know, I'm just a hop, skip and a fourteen hour flight away...

(actually, I have no idea how long it takes to get from New Zealand to Utah...)

Aw, aren't you incredibly sweet!! Too bad not a lot of people do this anymore-I think it's a wonderful way to welcome people into a new neighborhood :)

P.s. They look AH-May-zing!

Yuuuuuuuummmmmmmm. Remember our conversation about us both speaking English but our language being so different? Well, I have a friend who lives ten mintues from me and his family call those things congo bars. Talk about a different language!

I agree with you on food photography. I can never get good shots of food so I don't do it (I actually tried a few days ago). It's hard!

Oh Sue! I would give anything to move to NZ, or at least visit for an extended time... and with those tasty treats, you better believe I am wanting to come there all the more!
