she also had time for a game of cluedo...
but then she had to go (doesn't she look happy?) we settled in to watch this then this
when you watch them together, you realise that the second one isn't as funny as the first. also that the timeline is totally screwed as ICE AGE 3 is about the dinosaurs and in the FIRST movie they talk about dinosaurs in the past. i know! i know! it's only a MOVIE!!!! but i'm one of those annoying people that spots stuff like that. like the 'bad edits'. you know the one where the cigarette is all the way smoked down, then in the next frame it's barely lit. yep, i'm one of those annoying people that notices shit like that.
later in the afternoon we headed into town to see the MV Doulos. not only is it the world's largest floating bookshop, it's recognised as the oldest active ocean-going passenger ship (1914 - 2 years younger than the 'titanic'). staffed by over 320 volunteers from 50 countries, it basically sails the world spreading the 'good word' (see pic below). i don't know why my kids say i embarrass them. i really don't.
the bookshop kinda had a theme...we decided to stay in town to bring miss 18 home and killed an hour at a local bar with some age-appropriate liquids (from left to right: gingerale, beer and a merlot).
we finished the day with a family meal and another movie. not so lame huh?

It looks fab, I might have to pinch that tradition for my babies.
Every Christmas holidays we have a pyjama day, we don't get dressed, we lie around with our duvets and watch dvd s and eat chocolate. It's quite blissful.
i know - i love those days! when i was growing up i wasn't ever allowed to stay in my pjs. i was 'wasting the day' even if i had no plans! consequently i have rebelled in totally the opposite direction and my kids can literally spend DAYS in their pjs during the holidays!!!
I have to say I too notice the bad editing in films- I also tend to not be able to sit still for a whole movie and thus prefer to watch them at home where I can pause and come back- weird I know.
Nothing wrong with a day in PJ's- best kind I say!
Sounds like my kind of fun!
those waffles look GOOD!!!!!!!!
wow I didnt the Doulos was coming in Wellington

Couldn't help but notice FOUR elbows on table. He he, you said you were really hot on stuff like that.

I am new at PSF and my entry can be read HERE. Please stop by if you have some time. Happy weekends!
Sounds, and looks, like a fun and fabulously entertaining day to me!
Looks like a nice day -- fun, family and food!
My brother in law is a project manager/editor for an animation company and has worked on several Disney and Warner Bros. feature films and direct to DVD presentations. He agrees with you on your assessment of time lines. It drove him nuts when historical timelines or information inaccurate or sequels didn't jive with the original story.
Love your blog! So sorry I missed the competition, only got back today. Off to catch up on all your other posts - can't wait.... Flick xx
sounds like a lovely day!!!
You can never go wrong with waffles.
Aw, family fun days, we love 'em. What a novel idea for a ship ('scuse the pun!)
Sounds like a FANTASTIC day!!
I can't wait for the day when my kids start with the phone attachment thing...yay. Can you hear the sarcasm??
Love your heart waffles. When I got married we got 4 of those waffle irons. FOUR! What are the odds? We still have the one we kept and it still works...if I can find it in the boxes I hid from the move...
GREAT PSF!! So glad you play with us!!
