who doesn't love a kid's birthday party? i know i do! party games, party food. party food. yep, definitely the party food.
tara's miss 9 turned 10 recently and, while i wasn't there for the cake (which was expertly made by her dad), i got to watch (and participate in!) some of the party games.
miss 9's sister had been given the green light to 'plan' the party and engaged the services of her bestie, my miss 11. don't they look professional in their black and white and aprons?
i think you remember the colourful delights on the left. the party planners put the sweet treats on the right together
admiring the card made by my miss 10. it was a money tree made up of 10 10 cent pieces. very cute it was too
who doesn't love pass the parcel? we've included questions relating to the birthday girl in each layer, eg: was miss 9 born in new zealand or australia (coz her parents are aussies). it gives the partygoers the opportunity to discover something new about their friend!
trust me - it's waaaaaaay harder than it looks. you bury paper clips in a big bowl of rice, blindfold each player...
if you are an ALPHA MALE and want to win at all costs, then you cheat and end up with great piles of rice AS WELL AS 66 paper clips!

I am TERRIBLE at that game. The first time I saw it I thought, How easy can you get? But it isn't easy!
Great pictures. I particularly like yours at the end...:)
Happy Birthday Miss 9--er 10!!!!
I've never heard of that game before. I think I'm going to steal it for something lol.
Great pictures and story!
I haven't heard of that either, but I LOVE IT! My favorite shot was definitely the last one with that mug of yours of course! :)
Wow, sounds like a great party. What very organized party planners you have there. You should put them to work!
I wouldn't have cheated, but I would have been the slowest to find the paper clips.

I hate the rice and paper clip game!! It is so hard, but a lot of laughs. Fun looking party!
Parties are such fun! I love to see the excitement on all their faces and the laughs and giggles while playing all the games. Love the pics, Sue!
So cute! Looks like a blast! I love the treats in the cupcake liner idea - I may steal that for T's bday :)

Looks like fun games and colorful cakes :-)
The last picture is my fav....
Wonderful .. so would they be interested in planning parties long distance?
And I LOVE your scarf ...
You asked me last week about Time Warner Center and I never replied, apologies, its a HUGE building complex at Columbus Circle which is right across from one of Central Park's many entrances .. and inside are shops, sort of a vertical mall, and a Whole Foods store/market in the basement .. its very cool and we can stop there when I am showing you around my 'hood!

I love the rice and paper clip game. How cute that they planned the party. I need them to come plan my parties from now on. I stink at parties and y'all always look like you are having a blast.
That looks like tons of fun. They did a great job planning. And, the rice and paperclips looks hard.
What a nice thing for her to do for her sister. My sister and I were still hitting each other with hair brushes at this point. It wasn't until she went away to college did we learn to like each other. Now we are best friends.
Wow! That does look like fun. I must have missed my invitation in the mail! ;0)I totally would have come too. I also love kids birthday parties!!
Love it! Definitely one I'll be keeping in mind for the next party. Gotta love those alpha males!
Looks like a fantastic party. What a neat party game. I've never seen that. Looks like fun.
You had me at cupcakes. What fun! I'd never seen the rice game before.

I have never seen that game before but it looks like tons-o-fun! Happy PSF!
daryl, i got that scarf in hong kong! it's really light and i love wearing it. can't wait to visit the time warner centre - yay!
trish - both tara's daughters and my daughters still love to hate each other - much like sisters all over the world, but it was a lovely gesture to plan the party, and she did such a great job too!
so fun - so fun!!!
I have never heard of that one. But it is now filed away in my brain for use at a later date! Now go out and get yourself your own first place prize!
What a great party! That game sounds like such fun. I'd never heard of it before.
