not sure if i'll get the chance to do the post i want today, so have made this little video instead. i hope it doesn't make my north american friends feel too cold!

at tara's place last night

we spent most of the day making pioneer woman's candy cane cookies, then spread some christmas cheer by delivering them to local businesses. at the end of the day we had a BBQ.

even though our cookies look NOTHING like hers, we had a tonne of fun and i can't wait to share the pics.

The sun shine in your video and photo makes me long for warm weather. We were spoiled last week with tempertures in the 70s. We are paying for it now. My sister and her husband will be moving to Sydney next year. They will enjoy Christmas at the beach. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Okay, I am going to show you my pure ignorance here. I would just pretend that I'm smart (and actually go look up the info online), but I don't have the energy anymore so I'm just going to ask the question and look dumb.

Does it EVER get cold in New Zealand? It does, doesn't it? But you're just on an opposite season from the USA, right?

If not (if it's always warm there), then I should just move there. :) I'd love the warm weather and accents right about now.

TTFN... sorry to be such a geographical dunce. :)

don't sweat it elizabeth! yes, it gets cold in nz. yes, our seasons are the exact opposite. wellington, being on a harbour is very temperate. doesn't ever get to freezing, doesn't ever get past 80. the further north you go, the warmer it gets. the further south - it actually snows sometimes - down in central otago. it also gets close to 90 there in the summer, right inland.

we have the best of everything in wellington - sun, hills, beaches, arts - move here today!!!

I am sooooooo JEALOUS! We are freezing our tushies off here. Okay...next summer while we are swimming in the pool and enjoying the summer temps, you will be freezing in your winter. Kinda weird, huh? Enjoy your holidays, Sue! Sending warm hugs your way...

27 degrees outside right now. Windy. Warmed up a bit today though, all the snow on my front porch melted and the wind blew it dry... there was A LOT of snow there two days ago! Oh yeah, I spoke with a relative ( I have lots of those!!!) and she said they went to Wellington, or maybe a tad north? On a mission for the church we belong to. She was telling me about it there, since I now have a thing for New Zealand :) I am definitely planning a visit, though it will probably be when I am done bearing children...(now worries, I am almost 3/4 of the way done) :)
MERRY (late) CHRISTMAS! and a Happy New Year!

Oh yeah, ps. I could really REALLY handle the never snowing (well, I do love it in the middle of the night when it is all white and light and peaceful... but then day time comes...)and then best part-- no above 80 degrees. Man I would LOVE that!!! If I could just have it between 40-80 that would be awesome!
