schoooooooooooooolz out - 4EVA!!!

well, until february at least
it's the end of era too

when we arrived back from atlanta, miss 19 started as a year 2

then in 1996 miss 17 had her turn

and so on

and so forth
for 13 years, we've continuously had girls at ngaio school.

until today

it's the people i'll miss most. especially the teachers. i bet every parent thinks their school's teachers are the best, and i'm no exception. i mean, how many teachers would do an on-the-spot encore performance of their ABBA medley? (from the leavers' dinner the night before) volunteering, field trips, fund-raising, coaching, cheering, crafting. i'll miss all that too.

just being involved has been a privilege.

there are opportunities to be involved at intermediate (middle) and college (high school) level too, but they are few and far between. i know we're supposed to raise our children and give them wings, but for me - i also like to be waiting in them...

I love it when the teachers show they are human and get in and perform and act the goat with the kids!

It's lovely to hear how much you appreciate their teachers, and I bet they appreciate parents like you right back

So it is a bittersweet goodbye huh? Look how much they have grown and it probably went by in the blink of an eye!

I know how you feel. Princess started Kindergarten at the most wonderful school this year, and in 8 1/2 years when I have to turn her over to the high school, I know I'm going to feel like a big part of my life is missing. When you've got a good school, you know it.

Oh, what a sad day, but lovely that you have all those memories of your girls at the school.

btw Google Reader now picks up your new posts!! Yay! I no longer have to pop in to see if you've posted anything new.

Cool photos over the years!

so, is this your summer break? That's so strange for me to write as the snow falls down around me...

You had me at ABBA! You really do have the best teachers!
I'm thinking of trasferring there when Soph is old enough for actual school.

Merry Christmas!

Love the tat in the last post. I have a big one on my bellie. Sherryn and I went shopping one day and decided to pop into tattoo parlour. We both came out with some ink! I say "GO GIRL!"

No kids at primary school? You'll keep yourself busy without all that volunteering, I'm sure!

thats a long association with the school too and I bet that they will miss the "b" family as well. You have to love teachers that will perform to ABBA.

What Cool teachers and such a long run with the one School. It's no wonder you're feeling sad to be leaving that part of your life behind. I hope baby won't be sharing either of those birthdays Sue but who knows! xx Kate

You poor baby. I think I lived at my daughter and son's lower school. When the last one went to middle school I was lost. I really missed the little boy and little girl that they were. I also loved being in the school all the time. Good luck to you. You are leaving your warm weather to come to Big A town (this is what my semi-adult children call Atlanta)? They do this thing "Peace up (peace sign with their fingers, A town down (peace sign upside down). They do this as they walk out the door for who knows where.

your children are only on break for 8 or 9 weeks - correct? (lucky you - here in the US - summer break is 12 long weeks)
