this pic is for all the dad's out there who've ever been frustrated trying to find the source of that one dead bulb
everytime we drag out the box and start decorating the tree, i get quite nostalgic over the history of our mish-mash collection of decorations. when we lived in the states, our tree was almost completely white.in the years since (15 of them), the tree has slowly become more and more colourful. partly because some have been gifted, but mostly because of the cute decorations that the girls have made at school.
(from l to r: i cross-sitched one each for the girls; beaded angels - we made a tonne of these one year; atlanta dec gifted by a friend from our time there; macaroni decoration from kindy; baked decoration from school; stars and stripes - another gift from friends in atlanta; jandals - so kiwi!; decoration made by miss 19 in kindergarten. it says: "i wish for christmas, no more wars". pretty insightful for a 5 year old).

That looked fab. Today I have to go into town and actually start my Xmas shopping ! All my "don't mention Christmas till December" has come back to bite me big time !!!!
Merry December to you, too, Sue! I guess you never have a white Christmas... :)
great photos Sue. I keep on forgetting to check bloglines for updates. For some odd reason, your blog wont switch over to google reader for me. Anyway good to catch up with you on Saturday and sorry for not saying goodbye I was too busy talking and thought you were coming back in...
Oh! Such sweet pictures. I love how you included the cat...against his/her will or not!
cool putting up the tree photo story.... love the christmas music video too!!!
I love all the fabulous hats!! Merry December to you as well.
Your Chrissy decorating looks like fun. I need to do it today before my kids explode!
You have sun! (sob, sob). Looks wonderful. That's a cute top you're wearing, by the way. Love the coordinating cowboy hats!
Thanks for the email - I was down with a head cold.
Excellent!!! Xmas trees and shorts! We've got an undecorated fir and freezing rain . . . wanna trade? :-)
I am jealous of the weather! Supposed to get snow today!
My tree has been up since Thanksgiving but it is still naked!
Great photos! Love your antlers. ;)
So pretty, but I find it so hard to see Christmas as a warm and sunny holiday!! lol
I like seeing it as freezing and miserable! I think my favorite Christmas Holiday is the one where someone hit my car when it was parked outside my parents house. I looked outside in the snow covered ground and my car was gone, but there was some tracks going into my parents yard from another car.
My car was clear down the street. What was weird that none of us heard it happen. Must of been with Kristi and I were singing "What Child is this" at the top of our lungs. You should hear us sing it, priceless we are ;)
Happy Holidays!
Actually Sue you do realize
I love the snow- seriously I do and I am not kidding. But I do not like to get up at 5 am and go out into the frigid air.
Tell your husband pitch the set of lights and buy a new one...
We have had out trees up and decorated since Black Friday... presents are almost all wrapped. Hope to finish that tonight. Now off to figure out what baking will happen this year.
A warm sunny Christmas? Weird and lovely.
For no good reason, I have to tell you we have a glass brick wall like that too.
Great post and pictures! I'm a bit sad this year as my oldest is on the other side of the country for the first time. She moved during the summer and this is the first Christmas without her in her 21 years. I still have my youngest home, though! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
