photostory friday: someone turned 18

she had 'drinks'
this is not to be confused with a party
'drinks' is invite only for between 9-12 of your closest friends

there was a greek toga theme

although i don't remember the greeks wearing sports socks

they played drinking games
they sung along loudly to bon jovi and aerosmith
they said thank you when i brought in snacks

there was cake

at midnight they turned off the music
brought out the dishes
recycled the empties
vacuumed up the cake crumbs
and put the furniture back

the boys went home
and the girls went to bed

but wait!

where's the rebellious teenager?

oh. there she is

but enough about me.

there were presents too

mostly brought from overseas

the 'joey hat' - LONDON BABY!
i couldn't resist
then there was the tootsie roll jackpot

candy sent from this blogger and this blogger too!
these are the faces of two people not in the know...

but the biggest thanks goes to my KC peep melinda, who sent enough candy to satisfy the scrappy family sweet tooth until long after christmas!

and i got some too!
junior mints and york patties are my fave

and some of the mini album i made her, which is more like a MONDO album because the child has had such a busy year

Looks like such a fun and memorable 18th birthday celebration, and you definitely rocked the cake!

Our new Miss 18 and her friends also cleaned up after the party. We think she is more responsible and mature than the pair of us were at the same age, lol.

Looks like a fun, friend-filled party!

Love the mondo album you did for her - what size photos did you use. Very effective!

OMG, Sue! Didn't she JUST turn 17?!?! I remember her 17th birthday. Gah. Now other people's children are growing up too fast, just like my own.

Happy birthday to her! She's such an awesome, cool, kid (er... she's practically grown up now, isn't she? I guess I should say woman, not kid).

ah you sound so calm cool and collected about all this growing up and being of drinking age.....I will be sure to direct my questions of how to stay sane and keep your cool whilst raising a teenager to you in oh 5 years or so!
So how were your minty candies?

So many things to comment on. Happy 18th birthday to your beautiful daughter. Her party looked like a lot of fun.

The picture of her opening receiving the poptarts is a hoot.

That mini album is to die for. I really need to make a few of those!

Right on! That's much more exciting than my own birthday a few weeks ago (I just fell down the stairs, and said a few words my children shouldn't have heard)

Did you know Bon Jovi and Aerosmith are now considered "Classic Rock?" That's just sick!

What a perfect party! I want to wear a toga, get my drink on, and sing loudly to Bon Jovi and Aerosmith... (did they sing 'Keep in Touch With Mamakin'? And it they did, did you think of me?)

Happy birthday to her!
