photostory friday: a journey soon begins

i don't remember miss 12 having crooked teeth when she was this big, but then again, she was only a baby - with baby teeth!

(was there ever a cuter photo?)

but then she lost those teeth and got some bigger ones

(awwwwwwww...)

and then i blinked and it was yesterday

and now my baby has a set of 'railway tracks' that you wouldn't EVER want to put a train on, because these tracks are so crooked, that sucker would run right off into a ditch!

as well as these few brackets on her bottom teeth, she's wearing a plate on her upper jaw which prevents her back teeth from meeting, so once her teeth stop aching and she's off the smoothies, she will attempt solid food, but will have to settle for eating like a hamster for the next few months!

when i look back @ my dd's 'pre' braces mouth, I'm amazed what our doctor accomplished...and she NEVER complained! we were blessed and she now has a nicely spaced set of teeth she will enjoy throughout adulthood, as long as she remembers to sporadically wear that retainer.

I've been amazed with each of my kids at how fast they got used to their orthodontics! And they end up looking so good.

Oh my goodness. She is so cute. I love her freckles and her smile! And her rosy cheeks. What a precious baby girl! I hope she has a positive experience with her braces. Kaish is going to need some soon!

Been there. My teeth were BAD -- and my mom, to this day, would like to kill me, because, after four years of braces, I never wore my retainer, and my teeth went crooked again.

Be a stickler for retainers!

Aw, poor thing! I hope they stop hurting soon, but she'll be glad when it's over.

Poor girl, but she will look great in a while.

My son got braces last year, along with a Herbst (metal bars holding his lower jaw forward). It is astonishing the difference it has made. :) And his adjustments to adjustments were always very quick. I hope you are pleasantly surprised how quickly she'll be back to eating all the good stuff. Lol!

What a sweet daughter you have!! Try the baby Orajel for the pain (it's stronger than the adult version!!), and Ibuprophen too.

Gotta love the fun with teeth! My oldest just lost his first so we are just starting with that!

Love her blue eyes! :)

OK. Let it be said that she looks SO much like you. I've never noticed just how much before!

Awww poor girl. I know how that hurts I had to have braces. I've 5 of 6 kids who really could use a set of those crooked railway tracks as well. Good luck to her!

Poor girl. I'm sure she'll look back on it and be glad she did it.

I'm starting a savings account in case my daughter needs a brace in the future since the NHS won't do corrective work anymore. The things we have to do.......

We just (finally) ended our several rounds and years of braces. What a huge difference it makes...in their smiles and in our wallets!! :-)
