i have owned a 400D since late 2006

in late november, miss 19 finally twisted her daddy's arm, and we went 50/50 on a nearly new 500D

theeeeeeeeeeeeeen

SANTA brought me a FABULOUS new 60D

the 400 is on trademe (eBay) and already sold

I TOLD U I CAN EXPLAIN!!!!!

it's not often a take a self portrait with a FIXED 50 lens on an SLR camera, but if it's good enough for teri hatcher, then it's good enough for me

(coz our lives are so similar.....)

i don't know why i took this, but in the spirit of giving, here's me

my lovely smile lines

my eyebrows that are ruined because i plucked them too much when i was a teenager

my cold sore scar on my lip

my discoloured teeth (NOT from smoking tho!)

wordful wednesday: my baby's going to college

and before you freak out and wonder why a 12 year old is going to COLLEGE,

that's high school to you north americans!

although, i think 12 and 13 year olds are still in middle school in the states?

our 'middle school' (intermediate) is only TWO years, and it goes SO FAST!

we have certainly moved into another phase in the scrappy household

my girls are growing up, leaving home, getting jobs, being independent

on christmas eve, miss 21 and miss 19 will BOTH start their [part-time] jobs at 7AM, while mr scrappy and i have a lazy christmas eve sleep-in.  my how things change.

in this pic, miss 12 was dressed and ready for her year 8 leavers' dinner.

next year she joins miss 14 at our local college (high school)

photostory friday: the lowdown on the hoedown

because i am constantly struggling to put myself in FRONT of the camera (then worry later about how those photos might turn out) - you will forgive my indulgence this friday, where i foist upon you, endless photos of me dressed for the above mentioned barn dance our friends hosted a couple of weekends ago.

as luck would have it, another friend (who is also a professional photographer) took many photos on the night, and can i just say (as a woman in her mid-40s) - how GRATEFUL i am for a good camera and excellent [read] flattering lighting!!!

so without further ado, i present you with my still-pretty-good-legs-in-a-skirt...

this lovely lady and i both have 21 year old girls

in my defense: these are readily available in atlanta in the early 1990s....

in my own defense: I LOVE FOOD

wordful wednesday: my LOLCATS

 we didn't have our kittens sid and molly last christmas, so we weren't quite sure how they'd react to the tree!

sid immediately made it his new bed space, and on occasion tried to eat the branches...

(he's not the smartest tool in the shed)

i then googled 'lol caturday font' to find out which font that ever so funny website used, and discovered it's IMPACT, so made my own LOLCATS!!!

you know you're comfortable in your own skin when you're prepared to ZUMBA on a sunday morning in PUBLIC at a local community fair

SO I DID.

i've also been making secret santa (through this blog) and school teacher gifts

i also may or may not have recently purchased a MACRO lens

and may or may not be overusing it...

  

 i put this little christmas quote jumbo playing card album together for my secret santa

these take no time at all

 stampin' up scallop punch xmas ornament

 all packaged up and ready to go

and a layout i did a couple of weeks back

it's a lift, and i wish i could remember who did it, because i just love the whole doodling thing!
