Week in the Life: Thursday's Photos and Words

i've been waiting all week to post this picture.

today we're unconditional on our next home and i can finally share our fantastic news
i.e. - make it 'Facebook official' lol

if you know me at all, you'll know that i wore this red jumper to match our new front door

i'm grateful for my dear friend sharon who took this photo and helped me line my head up directly over murray's, not that i have anything against our wonderful estate agent - i just like clean lines in a photo.

7:44 | i'm going to miss this view

the kitchen not the butt!

i wonder where the coffee machine will go in our new place?

every day in the life and week in the life i always take this photo standing on the family room side of the kitchen.
today i made a point of standing on the other side of the room

8:37 | very long to-do list, feat. errant cat

9:27 | they say no man is an island, but apparently my scrap desk is - HA!

not sure why i'm leaving it until the last minute to pack away, because i sure as hell don't have any time to craft this week!

see that 'right angle' of masking tape on the floor?
hubby has marked out the size of my scrap room in the new place
it'll be cosy but i get to keep my side by side tables, although they'll need a trim to fit

11:36 | this photo says it all: bed hair, unwashed face. not sleeping properly. physically exhausted and i have a cold, but HEY! we're moving house!

12:15 | 4 down, 3 to go

Clive's nicknames for Tash over the years have included "T" and "T-Burger"

in 2012 when we painted this magnetic wall there were FOUR school photos, but in the years since, one by one the photos have disappeared

either because the girls left school/home, and the photos became out of date, or they got blown down by the wind when a window in the kitchen was open

...til one day it was just Tash

she looks flushed in this pic because she had just finished a netball tournament, and rushed back to school to have her photo taken. actually the photo from the year before tells the same story.

i was away for the weekend (somewhere, i can't remember!) a month or so ago and Clive must've been bored, because when I got home, this is how the wall looked.

he said she looked lonely...

when this house goes on the market next week, these 4 pieces of paper won't be there and they won't go up in the new house either, but that's ok, because the story's been told.

12:44 | off to lunch with katelin and nate

1:02 | lunch at monsoon poon. that's my orange car parked right outside the door
love it when that happens

i've had a lunch time voucher that i won at a school fair for this place sitting in my wallet for over a year

when nate first visited new zealand we ate here and i've been saving the voucher until his next visit

with vietnam still on my mind, i order the HO CHI MIN mule as my cocktail of choice

katelin ordered the CIGARONI which the waitress put down in front of nate
- coz apparently it's a BOYS drink...

stuffed naan and fire cracker chicken sliders
yummy

i had the roast duck me goreng
it was delicious, and Clive was very happy with the doggie bag i brought home!

3:23 | Sharon meets me at home and drives us to the new house
she poses in front of the sign so i can show her where i want my photo taken
(to include the red front door)
after that we WALK into the village for coffee
oh how i'm going to love living on the flat!!!

7:18 | Moe is missing Tash big time
for starters Tash is gone, as is her bedroom and all her furniture - i.e. his usual bed

8:57 | just us

9:24 | cliffhanger for the penultimate episode of Broadchurch

in London, the girls have had a big day with Mikaela playing tour guide to Tash.
they hit up all the usual spots and had a great time

this kid...

i've been promised a 3rd photo to go with these two
(me in October 2014, Mikaela in February 2016 when she first moved there)

and this is what they send me in the family chat:

"tash at the tower bridge today"

oh how they love to wind me up

close enough...
