i should have left well alone

well, it serves me right i guess.

i've been wanting to have a 3 column blogger template for a while, but when i discovered i was going to lose html30 and an entire list of other letters and numbers that made no sense to me at all, i decided to nix the whole idea. i was also told that i would lose all my widgets too, and well, that just made me sad.

so i decided that i would just try one of the meagre 'vanilla' options that blogger has on offer. then i changed my mind again and went and did something else.

BUT when i came back to the computer i discovered my ENTIRE BLOGROLL WAS GONE!!! not to mention all my other cool links. DOH! i have no idea how to get them back, so i'm trying to cobble together my list from memory, which after 4 kids is patchy at best.

i kinda like this template, but i hate the grey and i can't figure out a way to change it. not only that, i can't even figure out a way to get my ORIGINAL template back!

CRAP.

and if anyone mentions the fact that my new header overruns the blue template by 2 millimetres i'm gonna stick my fist through the computer screen and.....

well, that wouldn't be very bloglike of me would it!?!

i'm hoping to not notice it after a while.

Well THANK YOU for helping me make the decision about changing my blog to a three column! I have been saving bits and pieces of my template, but I'm too cowardly to try it. I simply could NOT do without widgets. Poor scrappysue. I feel your pain, honestly I do. Perhaps you have a pal who could get you back to your former self? It's such a frightening thing...truly it is. Perhaps it's time to call in the "big guns" and PAY someone to get it right? What thinks ye?

Praying?!?!

Hi Sue, thanks for stopping by and here is the exact link you need to get this fixed and have your very own third column. The instructions are clear, easy to follow but wait until you have time as it takes a little while. http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/2007/05/three-columns-rounders-template.html

I am happy to help .. go to the bllogger templates page and try out before you actually switch .. and SAVE your present template before you commit .. there's a save button there on the template page .. .HOWEVER I like the way this looks .. and you can change the colors by going to the Customize tab .. and look at the options for Fonts and Colors ... if you need any help.. I am an email away ... use my Gmail acct ..

I like your new look, but I understand your frustration. It took me 6 months to learn how to change by page. I didn't really like it and have been trying to figure out how to get the other one back and have just given up for awhile. I'll try again when I'm not so peed off.

You can change the color of your blogger template by clicking in Customize; Fonts & Colors. I like your new look! Change is good.

thanks ladies - what great support you all are! i'm sure i will get used to it too, however i should have saved my old one before i started mucking around - lesson learned!

i know about customising fonts and colours, but you can only change the white in the middle, not the grey on the outside.

and paula - don't let my mistakes put YOU off!!! as you can see, there's lots of helping hands here.

I have been wanting the three columns also but have been afraid of what havoc it would cause, thanks for the heads up. I really want the lady from Blogs for a Cause to redo mine, but maybe I will just start another blog someday!! lol

okay Sue first of all at least you have a header. Secondly at least you take the time to try and snazz up your blog and Lastly I think it is just great. Oh and I do none of the above- it is amazing if once a week I can update. I like your header and really would not have noticed that this was not all on purpose- it looks good to me!

Hey Sue, I've seen a bunch of really cool new templates used on some friend's blogs .... they are designed for blogspot use so you might want to check them out for something a bit different... suckmylolly.com is the place.
enjoy the change :)

I've been there. I so wanted a prettier, more custom look, but to do so I would lose absolutely all customizations. So, after three years, here I sit. Same design. And that's that!

I like the new look. I used to change my blog header every month and fiddle with the colors. I decided to keep my design the same for a while. Maybe after the summer I'll make some updates.

I think it looks nice. I like the header too. Notice I don't have a header. I have had offers to make one for me but I keep thinking I will try to learn to do it myself . . . still no header.

Looks good to me! Mind you, I'm not known as a sticker for detail or in any way interested in the finer points of anything - so if you are picky, you will have to look for sympathy elsewhere - I think it's just fine!....but good luck with the makeover!
