this week is 'tournament week'. one or two games every day against other 2nd XI teams, but who are playing in a much higher grade, ie LOTS of work for the goalie.
five games played and lost. 6 nil x 4, 7 nil x 1. without the mad skills of my daughter, the score would have been much higher.
not only do you resemble the michelin man (or woman), you are then required to throw yourself around the goal with an unreasonable amount of flexibility.
it can be a lonely job
sometimes you save it once only to have it pop in over your shoulderother times, you can only watch as it sails past you into the goal
unhappy goalie - made even more unhappy by her mother zooming in on her with telefoto lens

Fun pictures.
I love to see a girl with attitude. Well earned too... Sports, music, etc... she's very accomplished.
K-Dog Goalie RAWKS.
Love the pictures and LOVE your commentary!!!
That does seem like a pretty unreasonable job, but she gets points for sticking it out.
As for you and your camera invading the moment -- it's okay. It's your job.
Hockey? Without ice? It looks fascinating. Do they wear roller-skates? Sorry for all the questions. This is new to me.
Great shots with the telephoto. It's my favorite lens. Because you're the mom, and because you carried her for 9 months and went through childbirth, you've earned the right to shoot annoying photos.
Cute story!
FANTASTIC efforts! Wow, she's got talent that one! I love the pics-her attitude is so cool. She rocks-you can tell.
Your outlook on her efforts will be appreciated I'm sure--you really captured her mad skills.
Go Mom!
Lovely, even with the tude!
Great photo story! Thanks for sharing!
Oh yeah, she does ROCK alright. Wow cool shots and story Sue!
yep field hockey debra. no skates, although inline hockey is played here - indoors i think; and i carried her for TEN months! that girl sure does work on her own timetable...
HA! She does not look thrilled, and that flat-out looks like it HURTS to do. But I'm not athletic. I'll take the pics, thanks. Sport enough for me. ;)
She rocks! I'm much too big of a baby to ever do something like that. I'll stick with my Wii bowling.
awesome - maybe she'll be on tv i a couple of years at the Olypmics!
That series of photos just told the picture. Thought I was there!
I can't wait until my kids are teenagers.
Kdog is ultra fit to even walk around in all those pads. Man if I fell I wouldn't even be able to get up again.
Looks like she did a great job!
She looks like the paparazzi are after her! And, I love the nickname.
Great photos!
Wow. She's tough. As in T U F F.
What a woman.
She did a great job! I get "that" look from my teen girl too though!
My post is There's a snake on my foot!
I don't have a separate macro lens, but I have two separate macro settings. One is for general macro shooting and the other gets in about 1.4 cm!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
Proud moments... a great reminder that girls can do anything!!
Great photos.
Great pictures! Go girl!
Wow! She is amazing and I love the sideways look.
She gets my props. You have to have a little extra to be a goalie. Go K-Dog.
That's one tough cookie you've got there...LOVE it!
Great photos and commentary!
Poor girls- loosing stinks but there is always a winner and a loser. I do not know how she can easily move in all that gear- looks pretty restricting, kind of like my boy when he is all geared up for ice hockey.
Scrappy, I loved this! You've just got such a way with words and pictures! Go K-Dog!!
So what game are they playing ? Looks like she worked hard to keep the score down! Fun shots, love the attitude {I get a bit of attitude round here, looks very familiar! :)
I see what my kids go through while playing a goalie. The ups and downs. I think it's the toughest position.
Goalies rock!
