Welcome to Chick Chat!!!

Have you heard about Chick Chat? it's a way for you to learn that little bit more about your fellow bloggers.
As well as reading about them, you can see and hear them too!
Chick Chat is held semi-monthly and features 5 bloggers.

today it's MY turn!
i'll be talking about...well - just hit play and you'll see!
be sure to go visit laura over at under the sheets (her video's great - i just watched it!); rebecca at the misplaced americans; and Typ0 at wandering the world.

apologies for the bug eyes, the nose rubbing and the 'hemming and hawing', and for rambling on so damn long - i sure had fun making this though!

PS: i had big plans to take lots of little videos around my neighbourhood (suburb), but did not get my act together in time, so here's some stills instead!

one of the first things you notice about our landscape...
we drive on the LEFT!!!
wellington, as well as being the capital, is a harbour city
- built on a fault line (just like san fran)

this is a view of the city from mt kau kau.
only minutes from our homes, tara and i walk up here all the time
there are COUNTLESS ways to walk up to mt kau kau!
this is our house, as seen from another side of mt kau kau
this is tara and her dog jed (catching a stick in mid-air!) atop mt kau kau
even though we've climbed to the top countless times over the years; some days we still take a moment to appreciate our city and surrounds
this is the view from the main road of our suburb - ngaio (named for a native nz tree), and that's mt kau kau's TV tower (atop the mountain!)
we can easily walk BETWEEN the suburbs, and at christmas time we did just that when we made candy cane cookies for local businesses. the hill in front is the same hill i live on
and these are my 4 girls!
thanks for stopping by!

When you have a chance, check your e-mail. I sent you a message re changing your YouTube settings from private to public so that everyone can see your video.

Thanks, Sue!

This is such a great idea and very cute. I also have not watched yet but I'll come back. I went back and read the cookie story - loved it! So sweet and a great idea.

The vid says private so I'm sure you had your reasons. I'll check back later.

I enjoyed the blog even without the video. Is y'all a local term or are you originally from the US. I ask because I am a Texan living in Ca. and we use the word y'all in the southern states but I have never heard it used elsewhere before.

I love that picture of your daughters. Thanks for the virtual tour! I'll check back later for the video.

I miss your awesome NZ accent (which I now know is TOTALLY different than an Australian accent!)

The view from your house is jaw-droppingly gorgeous! Fault line, huh? So do you get earthquakes?

One more question: When do you sleep????

Sue, that was so much fun actually getting to hear your voice. I loved it, especially when you bolted to deal with your dinner timer!

You have an awesome accent and it was fun learning some more facts about your lovely home!

Cheers!

Great seeing more of you. Off course, we share the oddities, the left hand drive, the weird spelling. Apparently it is the Americans that spell weird - everywhere else, SA, Aussie, NZ and yes, England, they spell like we do (and you do), not like the Americans. We do Queens English, they do their own simplified version. The only reason why spell checks is American is because the programmes are American. You can sometimes set to British English.

Love love love it - I just want to hug you and tousle your hair. Also, I would kill for your view, a yellow office, and, apparently, to live in New Zealand. (Can I visit?!)

Hey - did you flip us all off??

SUE!! Thank you for sharing with us and thank you for your lovely comments about my video :) I felt like I was there with you in Wellington and we can now go and have some of your veggie salad. So nice to meet you and to see your face.

Commenters are telling me that I should start video travel hosting and so should you!
