haha i'm funny
this is horse guard's parade in whitehall, london
in the time of henry VIII, tournaments were held here
the horseman is a 'trooper of the blues and royals'
the soldiers are drawn from one of the five regiments of Foot Guards in the British Army
they are apparently relieved every hour, which is just as well, because they have to sit stock still!
i also couldn't get over how young this guy was!
...and how he could stand the smell!
i thought he looked really bored, but i know that his role is a huge honour

You crack me up! I couldn't do that one day, let alone all the time!
That is a pretty cool job.... thanks for sharing the history of it.
HA!! LOVE IT that is hysterical
I clicked to enlarge the photo so I could see the fellow's face - he does look bored! But comfortable - that black, poofy cloth he's sitting on - very nice!
I feel bad for the horse! You know he wants to walk away from that mess! LOL!
OMG! I totally did a double take when I saw this one :)
I know it's an honor but it must be terribly boring.
And stinky.
LOL! Clever title. That would be way too hard for me to ever do. Between the pooh and having to sit still...not happening.
Gross and funny!
Happy WW!
hilarious photo! i've always wanted to try and make one of those gaurds move. i know it's pretty much impossible, but seems like it'd be fun to try
That is hilarious! I defnitely couldn't handle that job!
They have some weird traditions over there in the UK. And yeah, what a crappy job! HA!
